Battle for Route 33

Image
“Where are my damn scouts”, Allen Hurst commander of Roger’s Army, Kingsport Forces. Where the battle took place The ridges and hollers of this local area is filled with family clans that don’t rightly like armies(of either side) marching though their land.  Add to this local people have been working as watchers for the Army of the East and feeding news of where enemy armies are.  This has allowed the Army of the East to have a good idea about where Roger’s army is at all times but has cause quite a bit of trouble for Roger’s Army.      Allen Hurst has sent scouts forward to take a measure of the Tazewell defenses and get an idea of how to attack but none of the scouts have returned.  There have been increasing attacks on foraging parties to the extent that rations are now running low.  Hurst has not heard any news about how other forces are doing but knows that the Army of the East is somewhere behind him.     The army of the east ...

Battle of Bulls Gap

Battle of Bulls Gap Commands & Colors Napoleonic Epic The Knoxville army of the West has orders to take the battle to the enemy. When the commanders scouts tell him they have spotted yet another Kingsport army coming from the east he heads that direction up route eleven.     Greene’s army of Kingsport also has scouts out and have seen how large the Army of the West.  The commander knowing he needs an edge begins a cat and mouse retreat up route 11 towards the Kingsport territorial line.  There is a ridge that over looks the north side of route 11 just before Bulls Gap.  The plan is to use the ridge to drive back the Army of the West but if there is a loss Greene’s army can slip across the border and wait for reenforcements.     Greens’s Army commander’s luck holds and as the weather starts to get bad his army makes it to the ridge and the enemy appears moving along the road.  Because of the weather the army of the West launches...

Sky Fighting (How I got here)

A few years ago a game company launched a flying battleship game.  The ships they produced were amazing and had real potential but the company stopped publishing the game.  As good as the ships were there were only three kinds of ships and only the British and French forces were produced.  I need to say I did not care for the rules but there were a fair amount of people that thought them interesting.  Things might have worked with what was out there but with only a Battleship, Light Cruiser and a Destroyer it lacked something.  Fleet boxes came with a battleship, a light cruiser and two destroyers which did give a considerable number of ships for the price.  Even the flight stand, though fiddly, did work but lacked the ability to change levels of altitude.  So when the company stopped publishing the game I sadly boxed up the figures and stored them for another time. French Battleship British Battleship            Al...
